Newark pro boxer Chad Sugden weighs in for tomorrow’s fight in Rotherham

Suggy’s Gym professional boxer Chad ‘2 Slick’ Sugden will be back in the ring tomorrow, fighting on the card of the 26RR Promotions show in Rotherham.

This afternoon three of the seven fights on the card were in Doncaster for the weigh ins, which saw light heavyweights Chad and his opponent Ondrej Budera from the Czech Republic both making weight at 180lbs and 178lbs respectively.

“There’s no doubt this will be a tough assignment for Chad, fighting for the first time in two years and up against an opponent with a record of 18 wins and nine KOs,” said his father, Suggy’s Gym head coach Dean Sugden.

“But he has worked really hard behind the scenes to get himself in the best shape possible and, as he said recently, he can’t wait to get back out there, win this fight in an exciting fashion and then go on from there.

“His supporters are equally excited to see him in action again – over a couple of hundred tickets have been bought by his sponsors, family members, friends and fans who’ll be heading over to Rotherham to support him.

“The first bell tomorrow evening is 7.30pm and Chad’s fight is currently 4th on the card – make sure you watch out for photos of him in action and full details of his long-awaited return to the ring that will be both here and on our social media pages over the next few days.”
