Boxing is back and Chad’s raring to go

At last, the news everyone’s been waiting for, not least among them Suggy’s Gym pro boxer Chad Sugden and his army of followers…BOXING IS BACK!!

Promoters Hennessy Sports have confirmed that his dream shot at the British Light Heavyweight Title, due to have taken place in Coventry on Saturday 28 March, will now go ahead on Saturday 22 August and, as originally planned, will be shown live and free on Channel 5.

Welcoming the long-awaited announcement, 2 Slick said: “This is the opportunity I’ve been working towards since I turned pro four years ago and to say I can’t wait is an understatement to put it mildly.

“I was ready to fight Shakan Pitters for the title when it was scheduled for March – I’ve been ready and waiting for this news ever since it was postponed – and eight weeks on Saturday I’m going to get the win I’ve been promising all along and bring that title back to Newark!”

Suggy’s Gym head coach Dean Sugden added: “This is going to be a classic British Title dustup – Chad will be bringing his A-game, Shakan is unbeaten and the fact that it’s going to be live and free on Channel 5 is just great.

“We’ll be training for a tough fight but we’re confident that we’ll be bringing the famous Lonsdale Belt back to Newark again. There’s no doubt that Light Heavyweight is the hottest division in Britain just now and, after his emphatic performance against Craig Richards last December, Chad is right there in the mix.”
