Nottinghamshire pro boxer Chad Sugden is getting ready to make his debut in a different kind of ring when the new ESports Boxing Club video game goes live this summer.
Built by fight fans for fight fans, ESBC is a realistic boxing game made from the ground-up with the professional boxing community that will be available on all major video game consoles.
With the number of fighters already signed growing rapidly, the Suggy’s Gym 26-year old will be taking his place alongside some of the sport’s legendary names and brightest prospects in what ESBC’s Executive Vice-President of Business Affairs and Director of Talent Acquisition Todd Grisham assures boxing fans worldwide will be the biggest fight game released this year.
“What kid doesn’t dream of being on a video game?” said Chad, whose last two professional fights were with Hennessy Sports and Matchroom Boxing, broadcast live on Channel 5 and Sky Sports respectively. “To be able to play as myself against all the boxing legends and stars of today is a real privilege.”
“Just like all the Sugden boys, Chad is known for never taking a step back, biting down on his gum shield and going for Glory,” said Todd, who will also be one of the voices on the soon to be released video game. “That’s exactly the kind of fighter we want in ESBC.”
Head coach at Suggy’s Gym Dean Sugden added : “It’s great news for us all here at Castlegate in Newark and fantastic for Chad that he has been asked to be involved. I’m sure all the amateur boxers down at Newark ABC and Suggy’s Gym will love it – Chad’s absolutely right when he says being on a video game is something everything kid dreams of!
“And talking of dreams – anyone who knows Chad or has seen him fight will know that the tattoos on his arm are of boxing legends – who knows, he could actually be matched against one of them in a video game, which would certainly be a dream come true for him.”
Currently in the Alpha stage, ESBC will launch into Early Access this summer.
